This is an elemental transformation. Suns and moons permeate both body and soul with light and power and, as her flight transcends both time and space, there is a perfect transition. A change from darkness to light, from womb to womanhood, from gravitas to grace.

Embracing what lies within and gathering to the world that lies without. There is a fine line between these two worlds. Like the borders between lands, like the tiers of different cultures and religions, like the depths of different skin colors there is a gap and there is a merging. There are two sides to all stories and two views to each perspective. Here there are barriers but there are also opportunities.

My desire is to be the bridge that joins all of me to all of you. The bridge that merges the within and the without into a golden harmony, that both defines and transcends all divisions. I seek to hold me but I also seek to hold you – together.

Humanism, is always a challenge to reflect on the synchronicity of human-kind and the individual. A self-portrait that is both inner and outer self. More importantly a self-determination that defines the conflict that exists between the need to be true to yourself whilst accommodating the need to receive and accept some form of social integration.

There are barriers, both self-constructs and humanistic. There are shields, both protective and prohibitive. There is the hidden self and the public image skewed by filters and guards that we hold close to ourselves and that we use to fool others whilst convincing our own soul that we are wise. Looking out or looking in, nothing is clear yet everything can be seen.
